This digital collection comprises the University of Westminster collection of Mao-era chinese wall posters from the 1960s and 70s. It is based on donations by journalists such as Paul Crook who collected prints while working in China and also taught at Westminster, and it currently supports researchers at IrAsia, Aix-Marseille University; IAO, ENS-Lyon and HCTS-Heidelberg, as well as the University of Westminster. Such posters formed an important communication and publication apparatus employed in particular by the Communist Party of China - the ruling political party of the People's Republic of China, and are significant for the fields of Cultural Revolution, Mao and post-Mao-era studies.
